We do math, lots and lots of math. All of engineering is the application of a tried and tested mathematical model of real world in an attempt to predict how the design will react in a given situation. Seriously, all the reading/writing we do is relegated to technical papers. That's the book that really got me interested. Since finishing it, I've torn through every physics related book I can find.

Might have to read that, it sounds cool. I don't believe in creation, and honestly the big bang/expansion doesn't sit well with me, either. They're still something from nothing...IE: creation.
