AC is affecting my....

So I just ran my AC for the first time today and it felt like it really hurt my engines power. I have only had the car a month and this is the first BMW I have owned and was wondering is this normal? I searched but didn't find much

Having the A/C kick on and be quite noticeable is normal. You have a 330 though, imagine a 323...

If you have a manual transmission, you'll notice your shifting will also be affected. The rpms will drop more quickly between shifts, meaning you'll either have to make the gear change more quickly or give a throttle blip to make the engagement smooth. This is at least my experience with a 323, you may experience this to a lesser extend on the 330.

I recently saw a dyno test on how much accessories affect power. In a 114hp car, AC peeled off 10whp.

Actually only 8% loss due to AC is quite good!! I've seen more like 15% on many vehicles. Definitely notice the difference when it's on, so use as infrequently as possible.....

Aren't those Pullies that UUC and Rogue sell suppose to help with AC power loss?
