it will be fine. The same things will break on it as do other ///M's that are daily drivers so don't be surprised when your water pump fails at 40K, etc. I would definitely buy it if the price is right!

scam?

Are you actually able to drive the car? because if its some kind of online deal, watch out most these suckers now a days are 115% scam. Low mile M3 is sketchy to start with. If you know the guy, I'd have the car inspected by a certified BMW shop, not the dealer but a certified shop. For future reference, anybody that says they got a car and the car isn't currently with them as it was just shipped to texas but wants your information is just scam. My buddy almost fell for something like that, and it was an M3. Gluck

if car is legit and oil, etc has been done every 6 months, I'd check the battery (low use can mean fully drained battery which can cause them to not hold charge too well) and make an offer. Let us know how you get on if you do!

I agree. I left my 330ci sitting for a year while I was deployed. It was supposed to be started, but that's another story. Anyways, a quick tune up and some checks here and there made it like new. A year compared to a couple of weeks, you should definitely hop on it.

If it's been driven on a fairly regular basis, I woundn't be too worried. If the car sat around for years at a time, I'd be worried but I'd still buy the car.

As long as it was driven at least a few times per year and was warmed up enough to deal with condensation issues in the engine, I think it'd be fine.

I'd happily trade changing some seals for the opportunity to own such a low-mileage classic. But I don't think that would even be a problem so long as the car was driven at least every few months.
