Leak when A/C is on...

I noticed today that when I got out of my car, there was a puddle of liquid...

I was checking it and it only leaks when the A/C is running. I'm thinking it's probably only water... but it seems like a lot of water (about 1 drip every few seconds).

I wiped it up and it is clear, so it's not oil (hope not)....

Is it normal?

Please help

Thanks,
HEnry

it is normal for that to happen when you have the a/c on in any car , actually it would be bad if that wasnt happening

cool thanks,

I had an oil leak a few months ago coming from right under my blower, but that was fixed..

I was freaked out when I saw that huge puddle under my car.

Cool

Dude, its absolutely normal for your car to leak off water when the air conditioner is running. Mine has for years, seven years to be exact. I tend to only notice it if I'm sitting during warm days with the air conditioning running. In fact I noticed it today because the temperatures soared in the District of Columbia. No worries dude my car has done this for 197,000 miles. Happy Motoring...

I noticed the same thing today after returning from an appointment today. The dash readout said it was 100 degrees outside, so the air conditioning was running near full capacity.

If you look under any car, or home air conditioner you will see water dripping, if not they arent working well. An air conditioner is a dehumidifier, that why if you have the A/c set as the same temp as outside, its actually going to feel cooler in the car because its drier than the outside air.

"huge puddle" = serious leak

Don't let anyone tell you this is normal.

Go to BMW or a AC specialist. They will be able to pin point exactly where the leak is coming from as they have the appropriate equipment.

Don't DIY this (Bar a quick refill), this is a very hazardous system.

I notice it all the time because i work under cars all day, and even when the car off, if the AC was running for awhile it still drips for awhile. Nothing like getting a drip of hot water on your head to wake you up.
