I respect the workmanship. I like the creativity.

I would not drive it.

Thanks for listening.

Honestly, I'm a bit bothered by your use of 'aryan' to describe your daughter. Are you aware of the connotations that word carries? You had better not be using it in any neo-nazi bullsh!t way.

I'm sensitive to the fact that English may not be your first language and perhaps you are unaware of 'aryanism' and the adoption of this word into white supremacist groups.

It's been 70 years, surely that's enough time to laugh a little. It's a german car, german shepherd, she's blond haired blue eyed. . . I don't know, I got the joke. F'in aryans are a small secretive tribe from freakin india anyway, ignore the idiots like Hitler and anyone who thinks they are 'supreme beings' and laugh at them (or arrest them when they get out of hand, but don't shoot them, that would be sinking to their level). There's only one supreme being, an E9x M3 . . .

Anyway, AWESOME BUILD! Way to save a junk bimmer!

I guess I didn't read it like a joke; I read it as though he was serious. Either way, it has been 70+ years since the word was adopted by Hitler...but the problem is that the word is still very much alive today and in use by racist tools who truly believe they are the 'supreme beings'. I'll agree to disagree about whether or not it is a tasteless joke but, if it was meant in truth, I won't ignore ignorant and racist comments by bigots.

And I agree, the build is absolutely incredible...I think it looks great.

Oh, although I'd love an E9x M3...the e28 M5 is my supreme being.

I sometimes wish that BMW would make a pickup. I bet they could do an awesome full size diesel, although I bet that would get expensive. I once considered sticking my old 525 engine in a pickup.

this winter if I get the time- I'd like to put some custom lights into the tailgate and lose the tailgate opener and put one on the inside of the tailgate
that would clean up the rear and the colorado bed would be hard to ID

Nice work... for those interested, here is what it would look like in the form of an early 70's BMW 2002: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/...ight,pick+bed/

I really hate how we live in a society that has knee-jerk responses to words instead of paying attention to the context of it. He has a blond-haired daughter, aryan is a perfectly acceptable word. I feel like our society could loosen our collective sphincters about the ridiculous political correctness that plagues us; it makes us feel like we have to tip-toe around words and it actually perpetuates negative connotations about people that have blonde hair and blue eyes. "I feel uncomfortable being around him because he looks like the perfect aryan" is what I've heard people say about someone I know that's blond and has blue-eyes, and it's a sort of perverse political correctness that actually keeps a bigoted mindset towards people that aren't minorities. Let people say what they want.

I got a few more details on the build from " bodycustom1" wife by email and added them to the story.

Quote:
For Tech details, the coupe was hit in the right rear. Skip cut the car behind the B pillar. The sunroof was saved but the track was shortened. the rear window area was manufactured by Skip and the glass was cut by our local glass guy. The Colorado bed was shortened ( the width was good). The bed was "sleeved" to fit the vehicle. 18 gauge metal lines the inside of the bed and diamond plate was used for the floor.

Skip kept the entire drivetrain and chassis from the BMW. He also moved the BMW gas flap to the exterior of the Colorado bed. And the spare tire is in the same place. It wasn't moved.

I love it. Imagine a pickup trunk that handles like a bimmer! Every French redneck in my town would have one of these if BMW made them.
