This isnt a great picture and the aircon isnt on, but gives you an idea!
This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do with my car! Ha, I had this picture in my mind for 2 years and now its in front of me! Blue dash, aircon, a soft glow coming from under the dash, and all of the other buttons blue, aluminum looking gauges, and aluminum colored trim! I hope you don't mind me "copying" but I was going to do it anyway So any tutorials for the Aircon, or any of the other buttons in the car that light up with default orange?

Smile

Well, today i received PCB for my needles fading and light sensor (there is also PIC Vmeter included, but i decided not to use it.
So i will slowly install it into instrument cluster

It includes:
light sensor which controls relay
capacitor and resistors for needle fading effect
relay for interior backlight (with needles off, interior backlight is off too)
voltage comparator which will control power mosfet after voltage reaches certain voltage (i want to turn on some charger, and etc just after the alternator starts generating current)
PIC voltage meter

I hope I didn't somehow skim over this, but just to be clear; the LED size for the cluster, a/c, and radio are all PLCC-2? what about the radio/ac screens?

This guy did green:

there are more colors on his website too

Just wanted to say what a fantastic guide this is, and what a great place this is to talk to other owners!

Following this guide I got stuck in and swapped out some LED's in my dash. I ordered 10 LEDs to get started from ebay for a couple of quid.
Now I have ordered more and am going to finish the job and get started on other elements in the car such as the aircon controls etc. Will do my bit by posting guides as I go!

Anyway, here is the picture of my dash! I'm so pleased! I will go back in and swap out the LED's behind the LCD later in the week when more LEDs arrive!

aww man this is awesome. Brilliant blue. I wish i had something like that. Keep us posted on the pics and job well done.
