my dad just gave me his 2001 BMW 330ci convertible and it does not play burned CDs
my moms 2004 325i plays the same CD and it works Does anyone have the same model as mine and can play burned cds? i have tried changing the songs on the cd to AAC and burning at a slower speed and it still doesnt work. Maybe it could be the Verbatrim Rewriteable CD i am using? i don't have any non rewriteable CDs at the moment so i decided to post here before buying some. Thanks |

my 2002 330ci would play cd-r discs but not cd-rw's. They have to be burned as traditional audio cd's and not just mp3 data cd's. Late 2004-2006 will read mp3 cd;s though.

^ you can still do it using the Mediabridge unit.
I am assuming you are burning "Audio CDs"? Prior to 2005 the BMW Business CD woulnd't play MP3 or Data CD's

Im too poor to afford an Ipod connector, as you know the cheap ones use the radio and BMW's must scan for radio stations
What is a USB stick adaptor? And i burn at 1x, i guess i will not use rewriteable Cds anymore Thanks guys |

CD-RWs will not work. You need to use CD-Rs.

It sounds good for factory system. most aftermarket setups would definitely improve the quality tho

Oh, believe me, Im not bragging about the HK system. It's horrible! I paid extra to have it installed when I bought the car and was highly disappointed by the sound quality. There's a button which activates/deactivates it and there is not an appreciable difference in quality when turned off and on. I just mentioned it as a detail to help diagnoise the OPs issue. I thought maybe the type of sound system one had could affect the playback mode. |

I dont mean to threadjack but I am having similar issues. Ill burn a cd and it will only play the first 2-3 songs. If I let it play thru and not skip thru tracks it will play the whole cd. I cant fast forward or skip thru tracks or else it just wont play. Anyone have any ideas?
OP I dont mean to threadjack if you want this post removed just let me know. |
