trading an e90M3 for an e46M3?

Am I crazy but I am thinking about trading my 2009 e90 M3 for a late model
e46 M3? I am in love with the e46 body. the e9x M3 never grew on me.

there's more than just the body. the technology in the e90 m3 is far better. e46 m3 is late 90's technology with a few tweaks later on. Warranty on e90 m3 is still solid.

I'd struggle to go to something older unless it was better and I dont think many people will say the e46 m3 is better - except in looks - which I agree I prefer.

I love my e46 but I am not sure I would trade in the newer car. As some folks have said - warrantees, newer technology, etc.

I want to do the move but from an E90 325i to an E46 M3, I don't think I would part with an E90 M3!

But like it was mentionned, at the end of the day you need to get the car that you want, and get yourself a sweet gift/trip/vegas weekend with the leftover money from the downgrade!

The biggest selling point for me not to upgrade was the gas mileage on the new M3s. I now drive 20k a year and 14/20 wouldnt cut it.

I am waiting for the next M3's as I don't like the newer E90's as much as the E46 M3's body style.

I think trading an E90 + CASH is a great idea!

I'm sure you can find a great 2006 ZCP with low miles.

Hmmm, the OP did not really cite details as to why. Normally I'd expect someone to cite what the don't like about the E90 and why they are attracted to the E46.

Possibly feels to me like the OP has a changing financial situation which could be forcing his hand.

Hey...not taking shots.....was in the same shoes earlier this year. Newborn son caused me to part with my 135 and the monthly payments and bought in cash a nice '02 M3 as a replacement. Very happy with the swap.
