Just do it. M3 hood has a perfect fitment and if you add the vent would be a plus. CF hood in general looks like crap compared to OEM. Check ///oss (Lou or luis hood, also gaby has a blue hood with e92 vents molded to it). if I get those vents, I would def jump into that project to. Good luck

The ways I have seen it work and look well with CF mixed with aluminum would be to use good solid rivets to mate it to the underside of the hood sheet metal. But if your looking for function I would go with what Bob did and mold NACA ducts facing the opposite direction of his so you EXTRACT as much air as possible to try and create negative pressure in the engine bay to keep heat down. That is what I'm trying to plan for. G/L trial and error is going to be either your greatest friend or worst enemy and don't let anyone tell you that thinking outside the box is a bad thing.

Lu's hood is aftermarket is it not? I believe he took an aftermarket hood and filled in the center portion of the vents... not that he took an oem hood and added external vents.

in the end it will likely be more expensive to insert grills in oem hood
