hello to all..im a noob to BMW's

Hello everyone. Im new to these cars and so far its different but in a good way. Im used to japanese cars. Last car was a miata that i had to sell to get a bigger. So i just picked up a 1999 BMW 323i and i love it so far except that im hearing a thud sound in the rear when i go into gear. Im new to bmw's so i dont know if its normal or maybe there is an issue with the car.

ive also just got a BMW 318i se this is a great forum you will learn alot here. do you have any pics of your car :-)
