The funny thing (at least to me) is that you've got a job offer and you're already figuring out ways to spend the money.
It is hard to keep from doing that, but I'd keep living like I'm living and bank the difference.

And then what? Blow it all when he's 60 years old and too old to enjoy it all properly? He said he's in his 30s and has already been saving...

Thank you, I want to enjoy myself a little bit before I get old. I've saved a good bit of money the past 2 years by tightening my belt financially and now that my income is back on the upswing I'd like to reward myself a little bit. Even with a $1,200+ per month car payment, I'll still be able to put away a decent amount of money away each month. Besides, a car loan at 2.99% is almost like a no interest loan in my eyes. Tomorrow isn't promised for anyone, so I want to live a little. Besides, I probably won't buy the car until sometime next year.

Everyone has their own approach to finances, so I'll leave it at that

I don't think it's bad to save either, but then again you're saving it to... spend (later), might as well enjoy it, and if it's not destroying his future then I say go for it... we only have one life to live.

Broke or barely having $$$ and buying $100k cars..... Ahhhh, I certainly don't miss that aspect of California
P.S. GT3 all the way. I love the GTR but IMO the 997 GT3 is a work of art.

Oh, and I'm almost positive a car manufacturer can't legally include a feature in a car that would void the warranty. Who said OP is broke?

GT-R is just fast, insanely fast. good everywhere, all that nice stuff. fancy 'puters and turbo's to play with. Also very livable, with 4 seats!
the Porsche, on the other hand, will NOT be like your TT. the turbos are AWD, and the GT2 is RWD. Doesnt seem like much, but with the engine in the wrong place, all that weight just wants to make the rear tires slide out. Not exactly fun on the road. GT2 is just to crazy.... and really not all that special. Porsche has been making them for a loooonnnngggg time, and all 911's look the same to un-educated people. GT-R will STAND OUT. (or where im from) GT-R 1.19.7 996 (no newer...) GT3RS (Slightly lighter) 1.22.3 New 997 is better, I know. Still interesting to see how the cars react though. Other than some super low production run cars (airel atom) Id be looking at a Lotus Elise or Exige.
