Opportunity without obligation!
Assume the remaining months of my lease, enjoy totally free maintenance, and hand BMW the key at the end! The payments are lower because I paid $6000 down. You usually can’t get such an opportunity to really get to know the car, and really enjoy the best car on the planet, unless you sign up for a MUCH longer obligation! Best of both worlds: if you can’t live without it on Nov 12, 2011, keep it and pay the $36,020 residual (in cash or BMW will finance it). Several people have wanted to buy the car now & not assume the lease. It actually costs MORE to do it that way, because BMW loses some business credit it would have for the full lease term, so the present buyout is actually higher than the total of the lease payments and the residual. Assume the lease—they are interest-free payments on the purchase! The car has 27,400 miles now; lease allows another 17,600. I’ve put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires on it: 275/35-19 rear, 255/35-19 front. Car is stock otherwise. Notice the carbon fiber roof. Escort 9500i is hardwired and goes with the car, because I’m moving into a diesel motorhome. Your first payment is due Oct 12, 2010: $1029.43. |

selling everything and going on the road fulltime in a mobile barn!
would cut myself with knives to avoid leaving my M, but I have handicapped adult children and they love to travel as much as my wife and I, so it's off into the sunset for us..... |

Well, you definitely won't need the Escort in that.
Nice car.

I'm very glad you're so far away else I'd be dipping into savings for this extended test drive.
I did the same thing for an E90 325i awhile back...had it for four awesome months and confirmed that it was the car for me. This is a GREAT deal...and damn, that's a hell of a lot of miles left. I could drive it back here...hmmm BUMP |

YES! Taking over a lease gives a meaningful opportunity to experience the car before making a total commitment. These things are too expensive for just a casual view.

Something doesn't add up...
If you pay out all the lease payments and the residual, that makes the car $48,374. However, it makes the purchase that price a year from now. I think it would be hard to argue with the fact that $48-$49k is the car's current value. So here is what doesn't make sense....How is it cheaper to buy the car by continuing the lease? The only thing that makes sense is to just continue the lease and turn it in when the lease is done. You are basically renting the car for a year for $12,353 plus whatever your lease requires you to pay for not purchasing the car at the end of the lease; which is typically $350. Oh yes, it's there...just read your contract. So who would be responsible for that? |

I'm answering a question you don't have.....but a dozen others have asked me....and you're right, assume the lease and hand them the key in 13 months is a great way to lease an M!

Oh, I misunderstood what you initially said......my bad.
If you could get the car to the west coast, I would do it! |

If you're serious, PM me to discuss some arrangements.
