i dont think the "trend" of flush or stanced will end.. it has been evolving to this point..

just like when 17" wheels were so radical.. until car companies started to ship cars with 17's.. the wheel fitment got larger and larger..now chrysler ships cars on 20's, go figure.

and if you notice some car companies are starting to do away with wheel indentedness..in other words they are coming from the factory more and more flush.

i never really liked my car until i "stanced" it because something seemed off..yeah it is form over function to some degree, but so is wearing a $5000 watch.

is there excess..yes there is, but who cares? dirty south guys started putting 26" wheels on there caprice classic and it looked silly but again who cares?

just enjoy your modding whatever it is.

Thats just the VIP style in Japan. Go to tokyo and most modded cars look like that. Everyone in the Japanese 'upper class' and wanna be 'upper class' do it. Its called VIP and its extremely popular to our brothers to the east. Im not saying it practical, but to each his own. I think it def is a unique look and cool to see someone rocking it and doing their own thing thinking outside the box etc. At the same time, I dont think everyone should be trying to replicate it. Its cool once, and thats about it.

For THIS forum to try and explain what hellaflush and mexiflush is..well, stupid. the reason why this wheel "trend" (born on wide aggressive wheels) wont die is because it was started in the fvcikng 50's with hot rod cars. Which lead to inspire JDM cars which noticed narrow tires yet stronger motors.. Which lead to drift cars (which started stretched tires) to what you see now. Granted, things changed like decals and EXtremely stretched tires. Mind you stretched tires are a japanesse drift application. Yea, VW guys take it to another level, but not everybody uses 195's on a 11" So to try and play it off as a norm is retarded..I laugh when folks say its a tend. Ok so your CSL trunk, CSL wheels, CSL front, M3 parts on a non-M is NOT a trend??? M3 wide bodies? Supercharger kits?? HPF, ect ect.. BMWs on HRE and DPE's NOT a trend?? GTFOutta here!! Every dam car in this forum and on the streets with a mod is based on a TREND. Black rims? tread.. LED tails...trend. Black roof...TREND. CF parts, TREND... crazy "performance exterior parts" (GTR vented hood, etc etc) with a STOCK MOTOR???!!! TTTRRREEEENNNNNND!!! And yes I fall into this SAME category.. We all do. SO everyone get over yourselfs...Cause guess what, your car is based on a trend. To try and explain that your mod(s) are ok and "normal" because its WIDELY expect is the lamest fvcking excuse. Safe and trendy, how nice. Hence, you feel safe to bash or discredit the work of someone or something other than your current trend.. Why? Cause you got others "behind you" to back you up? Doing something outside the norm takes balls, some will say.
If your in the fitment game and bash mexi flush (which mind you is mainly a VW thing and not as extreme as posted on this thread) should also gtfo. Just because the term "mexi" is used doesnt mean its a low rider with tiny wheels and poke all around. Its MAINLY just rear poke. Period..
Lastly, Guess what... Flush fitment IS a STANDARD... Your not bringing nothing to the game expect another flush car. So you dont have room to make a comment abt mexiflush or rear poked cars. And if you not serious abt the fitment game and dont have an open eye and respect abt different applications (makes/models) then GTFO the game. We dont need ppl like you. Its just like any trend or "movement" you should respect it.

Ignorance is bliss for some of you. And i will not post anymore replies abt this. Not worth it.

LOL @ the branding of Eurowerks

whats funny?? and whats the difference???

just asking, really..not trying to be an arse..but there is no difference. U guys branded a term and put it on your cars, meet up together at meets and ever fund raisers perhaps? Mod ur cars, etc etc.. use decals... shirts...hats...

so.. there is really nothing funny abt either of the two...

You're right, different movements bring together like-minded people.

To make it clearer for you I find it amusing that someone would bother identifing one car from the next by how far the wheels stick out.

WOW before I owned BMW, I always heard that BMW, Audi, MERC, owners tended to be very pompous, and after owning one I tried not to be and enjoy the true tuner lifestyle and the enthusiast dedication to grass roots movements. After moving on to a different car I noticed the "pompous" attitude even more from these said drivers, and even among those who had completely stock cars and knew nothing about the tuning world. The issue here seems to be the extent of "hellaflush"... yeah theres a limit, but to each their own, and opinions aren't the final verdict of what something should be.

That being said, I have been on a hiatus from this community ever since I shipped my car home to france (and I must say e46fanatics is as boring as ever, there has been a decline in innovation and trend setting in this community) so speaking as an active lexus owner, I personally do not like the car pictured at the beginning of this thread at all. I have seen its various incarnations and conversed with its owner, and understand his motivation to push the limits. Yet the discriminating and biased posts proceeding were just typical of people who have no appreciation for anything that is not there own and have no insight on. There will always be trends that might not appeal to others and "wannabes" who attempt these trends and fail at them. The "hellaflush" vs "hellafunctional" are both striving modern tuner lifestyles and respectively have pros and cons, and winners and losers, but if you aren't a part of it, comments such as "hella ghey", and other non constructive criticisms just means its getting your attention. "Hellaflush" is an ever expanding trend out of So-Cal, and "Hellaignorant" is an ever prevalent attitude among BMW drivers... enjoy the tuning world for what it is, a non BMW dominant society!

* TopazKD your fitment is fantastic, and BMW-UDM great posts!!!

here are some of the best of the best here on the east coast (accredited to IvyleagueEast.com) a great mix of flush and function that are leaps and bounds better than some of the "conservative" cars I have seen on this forum that are worthy of being featured on hardparked.com

ENJOY! Sorry they are huge.
