As long as everything goes well I hope to start shipping them out monday or tuesday so keep your eyes on your email for the invoice.

These are only for the September list correct?

"The V5 no longer has the button to turn off the screen, it does have easy access to the screen controls however so it is easy to just turn the screen brightness all the way down... effectively turning it off."

Navigating to the setup and then lowering screen brightness all the way is no substiture for the screen off button/command. That's a big oversight to lose that simple feature IMO. Do you seriously want to be going into the menu and lowering brightness, then going in and raising it again when you need to do something, then going in and lowering it again? While driving at night?

That feature needs to be brought back asap.

^^^I liked that feature too but I would tell you that the ability to shut the screen off is an unusual feature, none of the name brand nav units that I sell have this feature nor any of the OEM units that I have owned, so the fact that the old versions had this was the exception, not the rule. Understand that the new units are not just an update of the old units, they are completely new hardware, so its not like they specifically chose to remove the feature, the new hardware likely doesnt offer it.

My Jensen unit I installed in my S14 allowed me to turn the screen off. While not a common feature, it is a nice one and I appreciate it on my V3. Hopefully, Dynavin will react as it has in the past, and add the feature back for V6.

As well as restoring the ability of screen off that is a very useful function while driving in the night, they urgently have to change the font type that Sunplus chip uses on MP3 player. They look very "cheap" and ugly... Fonts of V.4 were absolutely better 100%.

hmm, until I see the screen I can't comment, but I know my handheld garmin screen auto dims at night so it isn't so bright. I assume it senses it and turns the maps to black so they aren't as bright. I am fairly certain my panasonic avic d3 even does that as well, but I would have to check it to be certain.

this is something dynavin should do for sure. they need to have auto dim at night. I don't think turning the screen off is needed, but dimming it or changing the color or something like your typical garmin units. Or, is that something with the software? Maybe try the garmin software and see if that auto dims.

Igo has an automatic night mode, you pic a color scheme for night and day. My night mode has dark red streets on a black background.

These guys are referring to something different, the old unit had a button on the screen that would turn the screen off completely. The new ones do not.

I really like the OEM-style knobs. Much better than the old ones with the chrome surround

Mate, just a suggestion to help everyone else, you need to re-size that last pic as it's bloody huge and is playing havock on our desktop browsing.

I on occasions turn off my monitor on my OEM Navi unit.

Having the ability to lower the screens back lighting is nice.
