Dynavin Info: Look here first...Part 2..."Version 5"

Will the unit come with pre loaded maps of your country choice on the igo 8 navi or do you have to download the software for your own country.

depends on who you buy from....I try to make sure the right maps are loaded for my customers....

Im actually surprised how many people like the speed sensitive volume....I despised that feature, even at its lowest setting I found it super annoying, I guess maybe im a bit too much of a control freak....

Speed sensitive volume is quite important for me because to go to work I drive from city to highway (90mph) to city and not having the volume too loud when joining the city is definitely a very nice feature!

For the BMW specific interface, there are some units for VW cars that can display car Climate Control on the head unit:



This may be a nice value if Dynavin head unit better integrates to BMW cars.

Maybe a V8?

Maybe nice but is it too much to move your finger onto the steering wheel volume control?

Just tell the same kind of thing to lots of people with automatic transmission on this forum. It's not that difficult to handle a manual gearbox...

You can tell the same kind of thing about automatic climate control, electric window lifters, central locking, electric sunroof, pdc, automatic wipers,...

Some people will consider the lack as a showstopper for their buy.

The best way would be to have a customizable speed sensitive volume like with the OEM head unit. You can't bear it => disable it. You love it => enable it and set it to the right curve with your setup (standalone head unit, head unit+amplifier,...)

And everyone will be happy!

And I'd like my coffee brewed and ready sitting in my cup holder as I unlock the door, some bacon and eggs and maybe a nubile 19 year old virgin massaging my er neck while I drive to work and then everyone would be happy, but probably not.

To my mind, these options were not available when I ordered my car!

Of course and a Dynavin wasn't an option either so either stick to your factory radio or spend four times more on an OEM nav.

lol, what I find funny, everything is developed to make us that much more lazy. Seriously, think about it. all these wonderful automatic things have been created to make life "easier". In actuality, it does nothing but make us lazy and expecting more of the same.

imo, I don't even use my steering wheel controls. while cool, I don't even remember I have them unless I accidentally hit them. the SSV, I could care less about. it is annoying to me actually. If I knew I could shut it off, I would have a long time ago when I bought the car. since I knew I was upgrading, I didn't care to look into it.

oh well. you can't make everyone happy and nothing is perfect. That is life.

And dang it, I won't have my unit until tomorrow. Unless the UPS driver calls me and meets me somewhere today. UPS won't hold it or anything until they have made one attempt to deliver. either way I wasn't going to install until this weekend anyway.

Or just put the point to Dynavin so that they will think about implementing the feature in a future version.

Since the beginning, Dynavin has improved a lot some little but very annoying things.

They corrected noise issues, removed glossy display, changed button knobs, even change the hardware to be able to store FM station names instead of frequency...

So why not whishing them to implement SSV and other features?

Without customers and enthusiasts feedback, Dynavin would not have improved in a such short period of time their units...

So Jeff, if you have the opportunity to talk about SSV with Dynavin, do not hesitate

To make it dimmer or brighter? Dimmer I assume, the answer is not really, it varies a little bit but not as much as the other lights so it ends up at a level that is a little bright for my tastes, ok in town, a little bright in the country. Ive got a little experiment planned to knock down the brightness on my unit a bit but I havent got around to it yet....

got my dynavin today. UPS driver hooked me up to get it to me.

looked at everything, it all appears there. looks like monday I will be installing. maybe start it on sunday. looking forward to finally be able to play the iphone again and legally make and receive calls.

Good luck. It is not that hard i did mine in about 4hrs, if you have a friend it will help especially when you trying to put the unit into the dash. I dont know how that was going to happen if i was alone when i did mine.

it only takes 3 hands.....
