Tokico HP Review

Well my shocks were blown when I installed my Megan Racing Springs a few months back. The ride sucked, and the car would violently shake when you made sharp corners and hit imperfections in the road. It really made driving my e46 suck. I did some research and some price comparison and decided on a full set of Tokico HP shocks and struts. I looked at all the major brands but with a small budget I could not pass them up. I had run a set on my 93 Honda Civic and loved them so I thought I would give them another shot. I bought a set on ebay for $375.00 shipped. Not to bad. Install was easy and my overall impression is I like them. It improved the handling 100% from what it was. The ride is stiff, yet responsive to the road. A little bouncy at times, but nothing to bad. I did notice that they take a few miles of driving to settle, but not they are back to original ride height with the 1.5" drop. All in all I am happy with my suspension overhaul. Shocks and springs cost a total of $500.00 shipped to my door.

That's the reason I went with them...cheap and they are a good product for what they are.

What kind of springs did you use?
You're saying exactly what's in my mind, but I'm just curious about what springs you're using.

I ran tokico HP w/ my H&R race springs on the e46. AutoX and track days, as well as regular driving. Excellent product.

Would you recommend that as a setup? (Tokico & Megan)

I mean I did it cause it saved me some cash and I was short and needed new springs and struts. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. I know it sounds funny to day BMW and budget in the same sentence but that is where I was at. It is a okay ride for what it is. Feels nice on the open road and it provides good handling for the car. On a bumpy road you can feel it, but nothing to bad.
