Half-Shaft question
after reading numerous threads about the vibration i was getting, i put my car up on stands and took a look around. I pulled the wheels and all of the boots on the front were good. I thought, while i have it in the air, why not repack the boots. I went to my local bmw dealer and asked for four clamps to get the job done. *they dont sell the grease......
I ripped the drivers side apart and went to put it back together only to realize the dealer gave me clamps that were too small. my question is, can i use regular hose clamps to finish this job or do i have to wait until the dealer opens on monday and do it with OEM. i can't see and problem but thought i would check here to see if someone has already been down this road. Thanks ps i attached a picture of what i am hoping to use. |

I've tried those worm-gear clamps before, they usually cut into the boot and do damage.
I've used heavy duty zip-ties successfully but would recommend an actual cv boot clamp. I know Autozone sells the clamps and would assume other parts stores do as well. Just my 2¢ |

How do you replace the boots on these axles anyways. From what I saw under my car this weekend I got 4 boots to replace

the grease comes in the boot kit. but if the clamps are to large, sounds like you have aftermarket axles.
