FS: S52 Swap only 600 miles

Yes you read that right. Complete motor, manual tranny, computer and harness out of an M coupe wrecked with 600 miles on it. I am asking $5000. Picked up at our shop. We can deliver it locally for an additional fee. The motor is still in the car so you can verify Vin and motor match and milage when totaled was in fact 600.

it could be done but it would be much easier to just use an s54 from an e46 m3. If your car is ever local to me i could get you a price for everything with installation.

If no one is interested i'm going to list it on ebay. No takers for a full m3 swap?

Send me pictures: braymond141@gmail.com and give me a price for just the long block (no clutch/flywheel/PP), and I don't need any ancillaries either (power steering/alternator/etc). All I would want is the complete block with coils, oil housing, sensors, oil pan and harmonic balancer.

The motor alone complete with that milage is worth the money but if you don't think so this is not the motor for you. Anyway i am not breaking the package apart. Anyone building a new car knows that this drive train with this milage is worth way more than i am asking. I am giving you a break so i can get my s54 sooner. If anyone has a real offer i'll take all the pics you want, you can even come look at it. If you are looking for a s52 long block with 800K miles on it you have your pick on ebay for $2500, have at it. I deal in prize possessions and rare items not worn out M50's.

LOL i know. I just put a hood, bumper support, and windows in the M coupe. Finished welding the front frame rail where it was crushed. Now i want to pull this motor so i can order my S54 and launch control. Fun Fun Fun. I know the only way people will believe the milage is if i leave it in the car till it's sold so. ;-(

WTF crawled in your pants? The mileage doesn't change the fact that it's

a) used
b) an S52B32 US engine, which is just a bored and stroked M52
c) you've provided no documentation, compression test, leak down test, pictures, accident information, or buying security
d) I asked for a better price with everything else taken off which leaves you items to still sell
e) Anyone who currently owns any vanos variant for the M5x or S5x could rebuild theirs with better internals and machining for around the same price.

You want to sell the engine? Post of pics and explain the damage. I've already dealt with asshats like you with "5k mi S52's" that were from pristine wrecked cars. The problem is carfax said otherwise, oil pans were hit and there's no guarantee the engine didn't sit there running with no oil... etc etc. One instance was a multi-million dollar Ferrari repair facility...

Quit being a dick and try harder. I didn't lowball, I asked for a more appropriate price.

What crawled in my pants is someone implying that i am not asking a fair price. If you know what i have then you know it's worth far more than i asked.

Requesting photos and a VIN IS a reasonable request for someone planning on making a REAL offer.

Implying that the whole package is overpriced so you can attempt to get a lowball price on just one part of what i have is an asshat move.

If you want a picture ask for it. If you want 30 pictures ask for them. If you want a vin ask for it. You haven't even shown interest in the package and are already saying it's not worth it and that you only need one part and that i should have spent time taking pictures so you can window shop, etc, etc. A private buyer actually asked if i would consider selling just the cams....

Can you please send me pictures. Despite the little misunderstanding there, I am interested even though you clarified not wanting to break it apart. I have cash in hand for my rebuild or a complete motor, so unlike most parties, I am a legit buyer.

I'd be happy to. the car took a HARD hit to the front right corner. I already did the straightening and welding. I also put a radiator back in the car filled it with coolant and idled for a while to make sure, like you suspected, that it didn't idle after a crash till engine damage was done. My understanding of safety interrupt device on the positive battery lead is that this really can't happen. Crash kills power to fuel pump preventing damage. I will get you the VIN number and see if i can jack it high enough where it is to take some pics of the oil pan for you. I never thought of shooting the oil pan until you mentioned it before. Any other pics you need let me know.

Sorry i spazzed a little. Like i said i've gotten questions like "how much for just the cams." :-(

also considering the milage of the gearbox you are getting you're gonna want to use the new one and sell the one from your car.

Alright it took me a few days to get a chance to play with the car but here are the pics i promised.











Notice i threw battery in it and started it so you can see it idling with 680 on the clock. I was off by 80 miles, sorry. ;-)
The VIN number is clearly photographed so you can carfax the vin. After you brought up the oil pan the other day i looked carefully for cracks or puddles where i could see under the car, didn't find anything. It still had oil in it so i started her up. Sorry the pics of the oil pan aren't better but i was in a rush. Sale will be considered contingent on the motor NOT having a crushed oil pan so you feel comfortable about it.

After rolling it over for a while i decided i will sell you just the motor if you want it but it will be complete. I don't want to pull the oil pan off and the coils wouldn't save you much $$$ anyway. I'll take $4k for motor alone if your interested. Another grand and you get the tranny too. I would take the tranny, the price is right and the milage is perfect if you are planning on giving it a beating.

So you find one with even lower milage with more photos? lol You where really quick to call me an asshat and say you've dealt with a million people "like me." If there are any REAL buyers the motor is still available.
