XI Control Arms Question
Hey Guys,
Could you guys help me confirm that these fit on the XI? They are listed as the performance kit. I was at the dealer and they told me these will fit. I always thought the XI only had one option and was with the original ones. But I checked on RealOEM and these are listed at working with all E46's Part: 31120429578 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=31&fg=95&hl=1 Thanks! |

Better to confirm --- it looks like they DO fit an Xi model, only if it has the Sports Suspension.
I used the part number you provided and did a "PART NR APPLICATION SEARCH" search on RealOEM.com and it shows it fits these models: Part Cross-reference RealOEM.com Home Language: Part 31120429578 (Retrofit kit, A-arm) was found on the following vehicles: E46: Details on E46 E46 320i Sedan E46 323Ci Coupe E46 323Ci Convertible E46 323i Sedan E46 325Ci Coupe E46 325Ci Convertible E46 325i Sedan E46 325xi Sedan E46 328Ci Coupe E46 328i Sedan E46 330Ci Convertible E46 330Ci Coupe E46 330i Sedan E46 330xi Sedan E46 M3 Coupe E46 M3 Convertible It shows these 325Xi models (based on VIN: E46 325i Sedan, M54 (AV33) : Retrofit kit, A-arm E46 325i Sedan, M54 (AN37) : Retrofit kit, A-arm and these 330Xi: E46 330xi Sedan, M54 (EW53) : Retrofit kit, A-arm E46 330xi Sedan, M54 (ES53) : Retrofit kit, A-arm These are listed as models with the "Sport Suspension" If your VIN is different then NO.

I'll see if I could e-mail from one from BMW directly to confirm... it's kind of confusing.

I dont think that will fit as the xi's use separate inner ball joints. It would be nice to have lighter aluminum control arms compared to the heavy arms stock to the xi.

If you don't know if you have the sports suspension, look at your control arms and see how the ball joint looks at the "bend".
Compare the pictures on Turner Motorsports to see which ball joint type you have. The AN3 VIN indicates a 325 model built in South Africa ..... they might be different I don't have the VIN info for AV3, EW5 and ES5 in my spreadsheet.

XI's with sports package never came with a sport suspension.
XI's have a completely different front subframe and the only CA's that are going to work are the ones that came on the car in the first place. They consist of a separate inner ball joint that won't be compatible with the ZHP arms. Last edited by MileHiXi; 09-10-2010 at 10:05 AM. |

The arms first listed in the beginning of the thread to not fit. I have looked at them and they appear to be zhp arms or at least they are aluminum which I beleive is why they are saying they are performance arms. I ran into the same thing looking at the ETK one day. excitement turned to sadness when I saw what they actually were...
