I've been wanting to get a safety razor for awhile, just never have. How steep is the learning curve?

you can buy single blade disposable razor and get a general idea.

My goal is not to get the closest shave so a straight blade or safety razor is pointless for me as I go as long as possible before shaving though I do use a glycerin based shaving cream (trumper), nickel plated brass handle and badger brush that I purchased 10 years ago before this fad existed and still going strong.

I havent got the blade in yet (ordered it two days ago), from the youtube videos, it seems like im gonna have to train myself a bit. Me being brown, i grow stubble quickly and it gets annoying because i never get it really smooth, so im trying this out to see how it works.

Not long at all... 3 minutes or so. I take a hot shower and when I hop out I lather up the brush with hot water/soap. I don't use the quality brush, soap, aftershave yet (I got everything from CVS) as I wanted to test it out but I'm loving it. I'm going to invest in a good brush, soap and find some good aftershave soon.
