Unless they have a surround sound setup. You hear things as either left, right or center... a whole new dimension opens up when you play these games in 7.1.

bastid, i went to order them the other day in blue and they are completely sold out of the bxr edition. Gotta wait a few weeks to order mine

The mixamp that comes with those simulate 7.1 surround very very well.

Most reviews rate these > surround sound home theater set up for games at least.

How do you like them?

I've used Bose and Sennheiser in the past. They're really good, but for gaming Astros are really the best.

I also have a pair of Turtle Beach X41 surround sound headphones which are supposed to be a competitor to the Astro A40s. IMHO, Astros are light years head of the Turtle Beaches in terms of performance and comfort. The Astros feel like they are a high quality product; whereas, the X41s get the job done with no frills.

The one drawback is that the Astros have alot of wires. Which if you think about isn't really a drawback at all because the wireless TB X41s have a ton of static and popping sounds which aren't present in the Astro A40s.

I rate the Astro A40's 5 out of 5 stars.
