How to achieve ZHP Suspension Performance from a 330Ci Sport Suspension
I've got an '04 330Ci Sport Package and a buddy of mine has an '05 330Ci ZHP and holy crap his car handles and feels (suspension-wise) sooo much better than mine!
Granted, I've got 112K on stock springs and dampers, but he's got 83K on his stock stuff. Any recommended suspension setups that can help me get to that level and road feel? I've seen the popular combos out there, but most of them involve lowering the car (which is something I'm not keen on when I'm rocking stock M68 wheels- unless the drop isn't that noticeable?). I've heard Blisten HDs on stock springs are a good combo. Are my stock springs still okay at this mileage? Man ZHPs are so nice! Help me get there!! |

Keep it clean

If you're on stock suspension, put on some Konis and H&Rs. Replace your FCABs and ball joints. Look into new RTABs and RSMs. You'll be a happy man. The suspension difference between the two is pretty slim.

The 90% of the handling difference between the ZHP and ZSP is the shocks and struts.
Your stock springs are still okay.

ECS, Turner, etc have a deal going now for the entire ZHP suspension package - control arms, struts, bars, everything for like $571. Smoking good deal.
Otherwise I agree, Bilstein HD struts or H&R springs with Koni yellows or FSDs. |

To get one step closer, next time you have to replace your entire control arm, get the ZHP control arms. I LOVE mine.

The ZHP control arms and larger front sway bars, in conjunction with the stiffer struts/shocks, are the difference.

No such thing as a special "ZHP" control arm.

Are you kidding? Do your research.
Part number 31126777852. Regular control arm. Part number 31122282122. M Sports package II control arm which is what the ZHP arm is.

crap. You are correct - I thinking one thing and typing another. What I meant to state was - there is no such thing as a special "ZHP" sway bar.

I don't need the sway bar, but this makes me think about "rebuilding" my ZHP! I have 71k on mine and it feels good, but dang. What a deal.
