In it for the sweepstakes! Rhino ramps are a disaster...sorry but I would not trust my life to these after buying them and bringing them home to discover that they were cracked?
I quickly returned them. I would do wood over Rhino ramps or even old school metal ones. I tried building some smaller version than MShark's, but the price of the just the wood seems to add up quite a bit--to that half the Trak-Jax's price. I could have just thrown in an extra $50 and called it a day. ![]() http://raceramps.com/trakjax.html |

![]() Rhino Ramps 12000 Angle 17 degrees Height 6 inches 2-piece No Price $56 Race Ramps 56/68 Angle 10 degrees Height 8/10 inches 2-piece Yes Price $233/$342 If you need the lower angle, want the higher lift, want to work from the side of the car, or want a safer product then Race Ramps is a better product. If you don't need those features then Rhino Ramps are fine, but they still don't compare. Me, I'll use jack stands until I can afford some RR-56-2 or RR-68-2 ramps. |

The ramps are specially designed for low ground clearance vehicles (10 degree incline). If the car is really low, we have Xtenders to supplement the ramps and reduce the incline to 6 degrees.
There is a means to measure and see if Xtenders are needed. Go to: http://www.raceramps.com/56raceramps.html and scroll down to the bottom of the page. |

Hmmm... I knew I'd seen that logo before. Hope Penske's attorneys aren't members here.
edit- maybe it's affiliated somehow- Penske Corp. has many diverse interests. Not trying to stir anything up, I just couldn't help noticing the similarity. Last edited by Steve855; 12-07-2010 at 09:23 PM. |

Yeah, my car won't make it up a pair of rhinos.
Nice product, but as you can see, e46fanatics has turned into a lot of cheapasses.

Im new here, and dont have posts, but wanted to share my experience with the company.
Long story short, had the ramps for less than a day and I noticed a crack in the product. Called the company and asked what my options were. They told me to pound sand and they could do nothing since it wasnt purchased through them. Keep in mined it was bought from one of their vendors and drop shipped by Raceramps.com. I had already contacted the seller (Amazon) and they told me I have to ship back the whole item. Contacted UPS and it would cost me over $100 to ship (due to size, not weight). I mentioned this to raceramps and she tells me she cant do anything and to live with it. I even offered to pay for FULL amount for a replacement part. Again she tells me to pound sand. Well just want to spread the word. Cliff Notes: Good Product, horrible customer service. |

Anyone crazy enough to try this??? Looks scary as hell but if it worked well for only $130
. The possibility of death and or destruction of your car if it were to break is enough to scare me off thoughAnyways the guy who made it said he found the idea in an old Popular Mechanics Magazine thread here: http://www.classic1800.com/ramp-pit-plans/ |

YIKES, you guys that have $350 for a pair of plastic ramps have a lot more discretionary spending than I do. That's just flat crazy.
Seriously, what does that $350 buy you -vs- a couple of 2x12s and 45 min of spare time to build your own long ramps? |

This ramp is a great idea, but needs the safety feature of the "tray" in a Rhino ramp. I once watched an e30 roll off the lip of the Rhino and will never allow a tire to be on a flat surface again (as in this design).

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. You just need to get some wood stress data information and overbuild it. |

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/attachm...6&d=1287623791 The stop at the end is huge, you'd have to real not be paying attention to go over that. Tim
