I did create a priority bug out bag system. One first aid/etc and one rifle bag with AR and Glocks.

I guess I've always been taught that a BoB should be something that you can bring with you in the worst case scenario. A worst case scenario for me does not include a vehicle. I'll be building my BoB/emergency supplies list this summer once I own a house. I'll definitely keep all of the bags/items in a trunk, but I'll remove everything if it needs to be put to use.

No. I have an AR-15...with EO Tech Optics...14.5 inch barrell...harris bi-pod...and a few other stuff. i can find a picture to show you if you like. I have an older version but it doesn't show my new butt stock or EO tech.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I have to include a military style combat life saver medical kit (with isreali bandage). a medical kit is a MUST for any "shit hits the fan" bag.

This is one reason why a large tactical pack is a huge plus. In the event I need to hoof it, my Eberlestock can hold several weapons, tons of ammo, and still carry supplies and clothing for survival.

If you're going to suggest something, you should be suggesting Dyneema Polyethylene or Ballistic Polyethylene. Half the weight of ceramic. And for the record, Level 4 protection, which protects against 7.62NATO AP, is not all that necessary. It's overkill. Level 3 protection will protect against the primary threat people would likely encounter, which would be 7.62x39mm Mild Steel Core or Heavy Steel Core from AKs.

Yea the Barrett 98B is absolutely one of the best rifles I've ever fired. & with the optic and ranger finder, its almost like "Sniper for dummies"

I've heard lots of good stuff about the BORS. For a mil reticle / MOA turret scope, it's probably a HUGE asset.

I was thinking about this whole "end of the world scenario/shit hit the fan" even on my ride home. I actually think about it quite often. Glockman got me thinking with the Suburban comment. (Nice choice by the way) In all honestly though, wouldn't there be massive traffic jams as everyone trys to flee? Wouldn't an few ATV's or motorcycles be more the way to go? Immediately, the disadvantage would be having no protection around you, but as far as being able to travel somewhere, I would think these would be a better option. Just throwing it out there for discussion.

My big concern is not really zombies, its hurricanes.

Chances are we would hunker down right where we are, but we both have parents to worry about who live near by. We also have two cats to worry about. Yes, they are that important.

I live in the city, worst case scenario, I load up the 'Burb with food and guns and supplies and drive to parents house or to which ever coast was hurricane free.

We could sleep in it if we had to.

were you shooting for real or just posing with that sniper rifle? Just asking because your body position/posture is horrible especially for a ex marine. Try adjusting your prone position and see if it helps your accuracy.

I think you make a very good point. If things are so bad you have to leave your house, chances are highly likely that everyone else in the area is trying to do that same thing.

ATVs seem like a very practical option because they are small and capable enough to drive through traffic or simply across country yet have much more capacity to carry supplies and weapons than a motorcycle. I'm not that worried about protection...a car isn't going to save you from much either, and you can always carry a tent for shelter at night.

I think I'm now going to find a good supply case that I can tie down to my ATV cargo rack...
