Alpine Type R Components + AMP Question...
Hey guys, im looking to replace my inside speakers and put an amp to power them.
I think im going to buy the Alpine Type R Speakers 330W/110W RMS. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/spr-17s/Specs And as for the amp I think I may go Kicker ZX.350.4 60 watts RMS x 4 channels at 4 ohm 90 watts RMS x 4 channels at 2 Ohm http://www******er.com/zx_amplifiers (For some reason it wont let me post the link type kicker where the stars are and select the model Zx.350.4) What do you guys think of this set up? Also I want to obviously get the most power from the amp to the speakers. I have NO idea on the technicalities of ohms so my question is... With these speakers and amp will they be able to install it at the 2 ohms which allows the highest possible wattage?

ok.. i was going to just find some 2 ohm component speakers and link them to you..
but this popped up.. http://www.woofersetc.com/p9425/CL61...ty-Package.htm i have CDT speakers.. i did a ton of research of speakers, ended up with them, and they are good.. i also know what acr audio is.. it was one of the companies i heard good things about.. they came on the "scene" a little after adire audio, elemental designs, etc... but yeah.. that genre.. when i quit following car audio forums.. it was the better part of a decade for sure.. however.. there are certain things that are built right.. and certain things built with a "planned obsolescence"... i try to support companies that make things to last... (i really should have just bought an adire audio brahma and rocked it proudly until this day)

Type R components are nice, but that amp will only give them half the power they need to reach their potential.
The Type R's are 4 ohms a piece, so you need to find an amp with 4 channels each at 100wRMS @ 4 ohms. The 2 ohm ratings for those amps would apply if you were running 2 ohm speakers - however the majority of component speakers are 4 ohm sets. |
