You still have to clear the code. Otherwise the light stays on.

i was under the impression that this method: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...101&highlight= acts the same as your contraption where the computer thinks the seat is always occupied
am i correct or is it the opposite? |

basically the same idea.. i jus did but did a couple things different.. instead of taking off the wires from the module i just splice them and tap them together.. ( you can either do it inside the box or outside)

Also after doing this should the light go out by its self? or do i need to have it reset with a computer? |

no thats' not correct.. i did use the resistor and diode.. this is pretty much what i did..http://s772.photobucket.com/albums/y...t=_IGP7469.jpg.. and then i just kind of use the shrink plastic and black electrical tape..now just keep in mind that this will work only if you have not unplugged/disconnect the internal blue and white wires.. and as far as the light. it should go away by itself ( no always the case).

Not sure which resistor to use - 3.3K, 4.7K or 47K as all three of these have been mentioned in the previous posts. Will all 3 make the status of the passenger seat 'OCCUPIED'
Any ideas? |

I ve tried them all and none of them work!, i also tried putting the resistor inseries with the diode, and in parrallel, my heads wrecked, rang the dealer JOE DUFFY in finglas,Dublin,Ireland and they said it would 300 euro labour and 165 for the mat, they also said it may need a re-diagnostic which is also the guts of 200 euro( for reading a few fault codes ),
IF YOUR IRISH BICOTE JOE DUFFY MOTERS FINGLAS RIP OFF MERCHANT! , I am seriously considering bringing it to a differant dealership and just forking out, I sick of that light, wont even pass our national car test, |

The light will defo go out with the old circuit i.e. 2 100ohm resistors in series with the diode. However, I dont think this makes the seat 'OCCUPIED' and that is what I am trying to resolve.
Floorjacker - you say that you have tried them all but did you reset the codes man? |
