Try the brand I posted above. I have one of their bags that I received in 2003 and I have heaped abuse on it since, it still looks new and Ive never had any issues.

Delsey hands down. They have a lightweight line that is insanely durable. It's so important to have to a suitcase that doesnt weigh 20+lbs empty because of the weight restrictions that all airlines have.

Well I've broken multiple backpacks- in that regard North Face is the best (only brand I've owned that I haven't broken, had it for over 2 years), and the only Bag I haven't broken in some regard is this franken-duffle by High Sierra (rolling duffle). I've broken a bunch of bags in one way or another, but I can't remember specifics.
I recommend Osprey backpacks if you're ever going backpacking.

Exactly. The large bag has a new scale built into the bag to let you know how heavy before and after packing.

I have Victorionox luggage that I like and has held up well. I usually take short trips for work (2 days) so I use my duffel more than my roller bag, but the duffel bag is rugged as hell and fits perfectly in the overhead compartment.

I'm rocking this brand, quality stuff and well designed. I'm rocking their "Transcend" line.

I wish I had a Rimowa. Want to buy me one? =)
I LOVE my samsonite. It has 4 wheels that roll in all different directions so it's easy to move around. It's rather small (fits in the overhead bin) but strangely, it actually holds more stuff than my large luggage pieces that I normally have to check in. It is also rather lightweight and it looks simple and nice. I would say it's rather durable as it has barely little sign of wear despite going through the following: I've had it for 3 years. It's been to Thailand, Shanghai, Hong Kong x3, Macau, Philippines x3, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Taiwan x2, New York x3, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston x2, Las Vegas x3, Florida, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Seattle x2, Portland (Oregon,) and down to LA and back a ton of times. Definitely tumi. We have used our bags for years and they held up great. If you need any tumi stuff, PM me. I can get pretty steep discounts (20%+, depending on what you want), and have it shipped to you directly from them.

I thend to eather use Swiss Army or Tumi
though the bag that i have owned the longest and has taken the most abuse is a laptop backpack from Eddie Bauer that i used for my first laptop (Toshiba Satallite 335cdt purchased for highschool) i still use it to this day as a cary-on bag
