Fake Focal speakers on eBay???
I've been planning to buy Focal speakers from eBay and i've heard some strange rumors. Someone that works at a audio shop told me that the Focal speakers on eBay are fake. That the speakers are made in China with replica parts? I find this hard to believe when Ravi (indoaudio on ebay) has a feedback of 6500+ and I've bought items from him before. And whats more interesting is im up in Canada for work and the same Focal 165K2P's that are on ebay for $400 are for $1500 Canadian. Why is there such a big diff in price? And is there any truth behind "fake" or "replica" speakers?

well the audio shops obviously want you to buy it from them. Be careful tho, if you buy on eBay you might not get warranty from the factory, tho the seller MIGHT have some sort of warranty. But 6500+ feedback is plenty good IMO...

eBay is notorious for fakes but usually 6500+ feedback doesn't lie

I know Ravi personally and he is a user on this forum and i've done several deals w/ him. NONE of his stuff is fake or refurbished.. he is the man, and I only buy from him for new car audio.. he can get you anything you want. I'm about to buy a HU from him very shortly.. he's the man and tell him that I referred you.

yep
correct- they are very much the real thing. FYI, with the exception of focals (which happen to more more expensive in CAD than in USD) you can actually usually get BETTER deals in canada if you buy with USD- though lately with the falling dollar, these little "discounts" are going away quickly.
if you guys are into home audio in addition to car audio, you can get some killer deals on good home speakers like Paradigm (made in canada, and very nice quality) - I saved a **** ton of cash by doing it this way! Best part- if you actually GO to canada on a trip to pick up your speakers, you getr a TAX REFUND at the border- you basically get BACK all your cash... not bad huh... just a little FYI |

Well I just spent about $2000 and I am very happy with Ravi' and indoaudio. I have not had a problem with him and with 6500+ feedback better then any online store IMO. And the thing with Ravi is if what your looking for isn't listed mostly likely he'll have it. And $22 shipping for 5 items, not bad at all.
