Stock vs Bilstein sport+H&R sport
Stock
![]() ![]() Lowered ![]() ![]() Maybe I'll take better pictures. Probably not ![]() The ride is most definitely more harsh than stock and I have the feeling that I need to change the FCABs and RTABs soon along with a bunch of other stuff. The dive and squat are almost completely eliminated. When taking turns, the car doesn't sway as much, but it is a bit wobbly in the front. I think the suspension nuts and bolts needs to be tightened again. |

My Ride: is finally boosted
|
I think this may be my next project. How harsh are you saying the ride is? Just out of curiosity how old are your tires? just swapped mine out a week or so ago and i can't begin to tell you how much of an improvement in ride quality i saw. This leads me to believe that I won't think the ride with the sport springs will be all that bad.

Bilstein and H&R Sport springs are probably the harshest combination you can choose.
I had H&R Sport springs and it was too harsh. I switched to Koni Yellow (Adjustable) and Eibach ProKit springs, still stiffer than stock, but much better than H&R for sure.

Sounds like something is worn out in the front end, as you mentioned. Mine is solid as a rock.
You know, when I first installed the H&R/Bilstein combo I thought it was a bit harsh too. My wife even complained about it at first, but after she drove the car once she never complained again - and she's not into performance driving. Of course, most of the roads here in San Antonio are much better than the ones I grew up with in Boston.

Very nice! It will settle some more too! I guess you can say the ride is a bit harsh, but i dont think its really punishing or anything. You definitely feel more of the road now. Congrats!

The potholes in Richmond are killing me and the car. I was driving into a pretty nice area the other night (Cary Town, for those who know) and hit a huge pothole that nearly swallowed the passenger side wheels. I'm glad to report that none of the springs broke. Weeeeeeeee

For every pothole you avoid, there's one with your name on it...

The 20 spoke style 73 wheels are soft as hell too. . . not sure about OP's though.

Nope. Not gonna happen in Richmond. There are potholes spaced every foot or so from each other. It's bad. I've driven my lowered Civic and my lowered WRX here and it was just as bad.
The wheels don't seem to have any bends in them... yet. |

I read a post where a guy was rating his ride quality by being able to successfully drink his morning coffee without wearing it. Fun image as drinking in my Wife's Mini Cooper with sport suspension is funny stuff on our roads. Her car rides like a freakin' buckboard.
