Speaker Recommendation

Hi,

Just bought a 2001 330CI with Nav! Awesome handling!!! I love this car but the stereo sucks!!! I want to replace the OEM Speakers and Amp. What would you recommend?

Thanks!

Focal or MB Quart speakers (Q line if you have mad $$)

JL seems to be the amp of choice but I am going with Zapco. I like there Symbalink wiring and specs.

What are the speaker sizes for the front and the rear? Is there a specific model I need to use? I am ignorant about this subject.

Thanks!

I listened to the Alpine Type X 6.5" component set. I liked them alot. Thinking of swapping out my quarts for them. I cant spring the $$ for the Q-line quarts.....

What sizes speakers are in the doors on the HK system. Is it a 6.5 in the lower part, then a 4" and a tweeter in the upper part?

Or a 5.5 in the lower part and a 3-1/2" plus tweeter in the upper part?

Thanks bigjaei1976! So the front is a 3-way component system? What about the rear? I see the drivers are in the back and the tweets are on the side of the back seats, so 2-way components in the rear?

Thanks!

Exclamation So the front is a 3-way component system

I was just asking a question. But, I have seen a picture from a DIY for removing the door panel and there are 3 speakers, at least with the HK. I haven't taken my door panels off yet but will do so in April. If you can hold out that long, I'll let you know what's up. I'm pretty sure someone has seen the speaker set up of the HK system and knows the sizes.

Here is the link:
http://www.bmw330ci.com/DIY_Door_Panel_Removal.htm

From looking at the pictures, it looks like a 4". But I won't hold myself to it.
