Backseat Arm Rest Broken

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, there are a few things wrong with my car, that while they don't really affect performance I just want to get them taken care of anyway. One of these problems is the middle rear seat/arm rest appears to be broken in someway. When folded down you can see through into the trunk and when folded up it will fold backwards into the trunk. Below I am attaching some pictures that will hopefully help explain my problem.

What it should do:

That is the ski pass. I took mine out to let more bass into my car from my subs in the trunk. The plate was tac welded to the surrounding metal, I'm pretty sure its as easy to reinstall one as it was to take off. This is a popular mod for those who put 8' subs in the ski pass. I just keep the velcro strip in place to cover the hole.
