Brake pad sensor ??? (O)

So today might light came on in my 03'- no big deal I think. Get home, take the wheel (rear pass.) and see that the wire going to the sensor came out of the plastic clip and some how fell next to the rotor wearing a hole through the wire insulation and 1 of the wires, thus triggering the light to come on. So I cut the wires, twisted them together, elec. tape and heat shrink tubing around the wires. I have never replaced the sensors before, when I buy a new one will it have some wiring along with it or is it just the actual sensor w/ no wires? Is it even necesary to replace the sensor?

Yes the sensor comes with a wire. From what I remember if you follow the wire it should end in a little black box. You just open the box and unplug it. I would replace it just to get rid of the light.

Thanks-

I got rid of the light by twisting the 2 wires together.
