My Ride: E46
My lcm is unresponsive.

This weekend while driving around in the snow my indicator came on saying that one of my lights were burnt out. While driving home minutes later it came on and then went off twice and finally stayed off. When I got home I checked all of my lights and every one was lit. Later I got in the car and my headlights came on automatically while my LCM switch was set to off. My instrument cluster was not lit which was a problem because it was now dark outside. I tried to turn the LCM to on and nothing would happen. So I am unable to get my instrument cluster to be lit, I cannot turn my high beams/fog lights. I cannot turn the lights off unless I turn the car off. And also the arm that I use for my turn signals is unresponsive as well.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

No, oem

My switches just seem to have gone dead, even the emergency button is unresponsive, but my headlights (hid) turn on once the key is turned...

I'm
Going to try and unplug the batteryC hopefully that's the issue and not my lcm being fried... Anyone? With any knowledge about this problem... It's exactly as the OP describes

Same problem with our e46, dealer says it's an internal fault in the light control module. The reason your headlights are coming on? It's a safety feature, as well as your brake lights they are set to work/be illuminated in the event the lcm completely fails.

Yeah, if you can find another LCM to try out, give that a go. Or try to reseat your LCM faceplate. Maybe the connection became loose.
