It is good... and unexpectedly good. Most IPAs are best fresh, you don't expect them to get better with age. The wood in Unearthly just adds to it though.

Had one of these tonight. What an interesting mix of styles. Very enjoyable. Belgian yeast and lots of roasted malts. This picture was taken about 30 seconds after pouring, the head dissipates quickly.

spring is coming so it will be nice time to visit as i'm in the mood for some good seafood. also the scenery is fvcking sick around your way so i'll be taking alot of pics. i'll bring you a mixed case of goodies.

well in that case i'll be more than happy to take you out for a couple beers... its the least i could do

Paired a Maredsous Blonde with Chimay cheese last night...

For the record, Chimay makes much better beer than they do cheese. The cheese smells good and tastes fine until the brutal, stinging bitterness kicks in - it was unpalatable, even with some fruit to balance it.

Wierd! Who the he LL knew Chimay made cheese? they are monks so I guess that falls in line with the trappist jelly/beer/homemade things.

Yes, I am running through this company like wildfire, and one day soon, I'm going to do the Weihenstephaner bar crawl all by myself! This one was not "crystal clear" as they advertise, but still very much like a hefeweisse, just not so lemon-y:


I love me some Dale's Pale ale too! It's amazing that something from a can can taste this good. I really wish other breweries would get onto this trend, because I am sick and tired of carrying so many glass empties to the store. It really does make environmental sense to start using cans everywhere, so much lighter to ship all over the country/world and it's more cost effective to recycle aluminum than it is glass from what I've heard:


Put back a 12 of this, their pale ale is awesome, too bad I cannot get it in a 6 pack..


And one of my all time favorite high alcohol double IPA's. Can't beat the punch this 6er packs for $9.99:

Just had a Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier for the first time at Houston's.. FVCKING DELICIOUS!

I had a mini pick up tonight. I'll get picks in the morning, one Sumpin Sumpin Ale and Espresso Stout--forgot the brewer but it has a little orange owl on it. I've seen it on here and BA.

DFH Aprihop. Wow, love this beer. Great flavor with the apricot!

I tried the Flying Dog Raging B1tch on Saturday - I thought it was pretty darn good.

We also had:

Fort George Vortex IPA (Fantastic stuff, now available in cans! Probably one of my top 5 favorite beers. Slightly sweet, tons of hop aroma and flavor. Citrus and pine resin. A true Pacific NW style IPA.)

Fort George XVI Chapel imperial IPA (Like the Vortex, but more so - and brewed on Belgian yeast)

Dog Fish Head Theobroma (brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs , honey, chilies, and annatto) - not bad, but not nearly as unusual as its description would suggest.
