were you shooting for real or just posing with that sniper rifle? Just asking because your body position/posture is horrible especially for a ex marine. Try adjusting your prone position and see if it helps your accuracy.

Alright...I hope you dont get offended by my constructive criticism because the last thing I want is an abusive moderator banning me for "attacking you."

Thanks

Nah just dropped down on the ground for a few quick pics...
No way I could shoot that rifle anywhere around me..
One, way too loud
Two, I'd probably kill someone over a mile away and never know.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I've been vehemently yelled at for calling someone an EX-Marine instead of a FORMER-Marine. Ex apparently means you were kicked out.

Got to throw it back at a jarhead.

Ironically, I have been providing postive feedback on your AR-15 build thread (ie..US Optics...ammo...and YHM compnents, etc) so I don't know what beef you have with me.

I mean no offense but I'm just wondering why in one thread you said you were anti-gun, but in others you talk about your AR15, give advice about AR builds, and comment on prone shooting positions? Seems like a contradiction of sorts...

Chances are we would hunker down right where we are, but we both have parents to worry about who live near by. We also have two cats to worry about. Yes, they are that important.

I live in the city, worst case scenario, I load up the 'Burb with food and guns and supplies and drive to parents house or to which ever coast was hurricane free.

We could sleep in it if we had to.

JMO.
Wait did I say anything about zombies? Or can you read my mind And I have 4 cats lol. Also just as important.

i think bug out bags should be able to be put on the back.

What do you guys think of these bags?

This for essentials.

This for food
http://www.thesurvivalzone.com/store...097473409.html

They have room for other personal stuff which would include my guns

^^

Looks like that food is freeze dried. I know you have matches in the survival kit, but don't forget to factor in fire and boiling water into your plans.

EDIT: Now I see the stove and fuel.

At any given time, I have like 20lbs of whey protein powder at my house. I'm good.

I really need to get something going...

Then again, I really need a rifle to build off of.

I have a pelican case for my camera gear, and never thought about making it the rifle/gun box, but I like it.

This a very timely thread bump...

A girl I know just lost everything in an apt fire. She lived above a restaurant. Made it out with nothing but the clothes on her back and a pair of flip flops. Point is, having a BOB ready to go isn't just about surving earthquakes and hurricanes.

Neighborhood reacts to Astoria blaze
BY BOB DODA
bdoda@queenscourier.com
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 4:21 PM EDT

A stubborn four-alarm fire at the popular Flo Café in Astoria left debris on the street and multiple apartments destroyed. Fire officials say they responded with 39 units totaling 168 firefighters to the blaze that started at 7:19 a.m. on Tuesday morning. By 11:31 a.m., the fire was under control after 14 firefighters suffered minor injuries, nine of which were treated at Elmhurst Hospital. Fighting the fire from the interior became too dangerous making the morning’s efforts an exterior operation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation though it has been speculated that the café’s boiler may have been the source. The Flo Café is located at 37-20 30th Avenue.

Kevin O’Callaghan, who lived on the second story of the complex, was woken up by his girlfriend when she smelled smoke billowing in through the floor and walls.

“It’s pretty unbelievable,” said O’Callaghan across the street from his destroyed apartment. “We had all our documentation in there, our birth certificates, two laptop computers . . . We had just returned from a trip to the Bahamas so about 300 pictures were lost.”

O’Callaghan continued to mention that the fire alarm didn’t go off until they were making their way out of the building. He said that firefighters were on the scene seconds after they made it outside.

“They thought they had the [flames] contained. Obviously, that wasn’t the case,” said O’Callaghan.

Dozens gathered around as firefighters worked late into the afternoon putting out hot spots still smoldering in the above apartments.

“It was a great place for dates. All the neighborhood kids would hang out here. It’s tragic and a disappointment,” said Mona Nansour, a local resident in Astoria.

^^ Assuming you put those together yourself, Dave, do you mind listing the contents?

Each one is slightly different (depending on the user), but they all have a couple of days' worth of freeze-dried food and water, emergency shelter, small first-aid kits, a change of clothes, space blankets, hygeine supplies, and so on. Among the bags we also have emergency stoves, water filters, purifying tablets, knives/tools, etc. in case our supplies run low. They are designed to be 72-hour kits. I have a separate bag with some defense supplies in it.

We are better set up to "bug in" as opposed to "bug out." We have quite a bit of food and water stored up, along with guns and ammunition if necessary.

I got them from LA Police Gear. They were on closeout for 19.95 each. They are good, solid bags with good straps and plenty of space.
