Folding Rear Seats Won't Release - How to Fix

Didn't find much when I searched so I thought I'd post a DIY on fixing the folding rear seats. If you pull the seat release in the trunk and nothing happens (feels like no tension on the cable) here's how to fix it. My example is the drivers side but it should be the same on both sides. This is super easy, takes less than 10 minutes.

1) You need to get the seat folded first. To manually release it get your head all the way against the seat back and look up. Take a flathead screwdriver and push forward (towards the front of the car) to release the latch. My picture is taken with the seat already folded so there's enough light. Obviously the seat won't be folded when you start.

2) With the seat folded remove these two bolts.

3) Slide the latch out making sure the metal notch in the middle isn't snagging on anything. Insert the cable end back in the white bushing and you're done! Reverse the process to reinstall the latch.
