Planning to get a Z3/MZ3 coupe, need some advice

Anyone has experience with the Z3 or MZ3 coupe (not convertible). Too bad they only made it for couple of years back in the days. Anything to watch out for? Any common problems?

ReAlLy? I don't mind. Z3/MZ3 coupe is a mean looking car. Hardly see one, and never seen a woman driving one. May be you mistook a man with long hair as a woman?

Believe it or not, the 1 coupe I saw outside the M/Z club I knew, belonged to a woman. All the convertibles I usually see are owned by older men (40+year old)

That being said, there generally isn't a lot to look for or that goes wrong with these cars, as they have been proven to be extremely reliable. You might run into some issues actually finding one, as the MCoupe is the only BMW made where there is more of the M version than the non M.

+1 ^, Have always been a fan of them myself. You wont be mistaken for a women. I especially find that comment funny coming from someone driving a 320i.

Issues to look for include cooling system overhaul, window regulators are known to be weak, and check the rear trunk floor for cracks (generally a sign of abuse) Not much else really stands out off the top of my head.

weve got a z3 coupe. personally i think it looks better than the m. we love it, but one problem ive noticed is that sometimes, for whatever reason, the engine stops firing on all the cylinders. this geives a horrible sound off and the car starts acting like youre driving on a gravel road. its got 100+ on it and still runs great besides that though. take it up in the mountains all the time for a day of fun. i definitley recomend this car, though with the m ill tell you the mantinence will be CRAZY knowing how much this has cost in the past. hope this helped.

Sounds like a coil-spark or injector related issues, it could even be related to the DME. Maintance between a S52 M and a Non M coupe should be similar, the S54 ones will be a tad more expensive. The cars are actually all very similar.

M Coupes are garbage

Nice coupe, but I still think those wheel are too large...even if they do look nice.

Its ugly.

Thanks for all the good info. Bad window regulators sound familiar. Mine too. All 4. I couldn't there's a website for MZcoupe.
MZcoupe rear wheels are so wide, they make the whole car look wider than the nonM, and more bad-ass.
