Yikes. Good luck man. All I know is that one of the local grocery stores LOVES to advertise that they have shingles vaccines available, but I honestly don't know what shingles is/are...

WOW!! That is not fun man I had shingles when I was younger and it was one of the most painful experiences I can remember. When did you get it? If you just got it be prepared it is going to get much worse!

I had no idea what it was either until i went to the doc and he's like thats shingles! I've had it for 5 days and been on anti viral meds(valtrex) for two days. the meds take several days to do their jobs so for now im itching like crazy. Its can appear on ur neck and face which can f up ur ear or eyes.

quick description from wiki;
Shingles is a viral disease produced by the chicken pox virus. It is characterised by pain and a blistering rash that occurs along the nerves that have housed the dormant chicken pox virus since its last effects on an individual. When an individual's immune system can no longer fight the chicken pox virus, they develop shingles. You can not catch Shingles, however, you can catch chicken pox through direct contact with someone who has shingles, by touching the area of the rash. Most people who get shingles are old. It sometimes infects younger people, or people with a weak immune system. Stress may lead to shingles. The disease starts with tingling, itchiness, or pain on an infected person's skin. After a few days, the disease causes a blistering rash. This rash may be on the trunk or face. The rash grows into small blisters filled with fluid. These blisters dry out and crust over for several days. The worst time of the rash causes anything from mild itching to extreme pain. The rash is confined to one region of the body.

The problem is im not old and i didnt have a weak immune system or not even a cold this year!

Dude that's nuts. Sorry to hear you have that. So, having had the chicken pox in kindergarten, I'm not safe?

I got shingles after a 4th of July weekend of binge drinking in college. It was on the small of my back, covered an area the size of my palm. I still have scars, I don't remember it hurting that much, it just looked fvcked up.

Dwass- you're talking about the "Shingles Shots" signs out front of Walgreens lol. I saw'em. Say that 10x
