Question Koni Yellow + H&R sport setup QUESTION! Help Needed Please

I've been running this setup for about a month or two and it's fantastic. Well I am not happy with my RSMs but I'll worry about that later. Anyway when mounting the front springs to the struts with my stock perch I noticed there seemed to be a little indentation for the bottom of the spring to rest in but I could not really get the spring to fit in there. My friend advised me not to worry because everything will settle with a little bit of driving. Well I have driven plenty and I was just doing a little brake service and noticed the springs still don't seem to be settled properly. I'm starting to think this is just the way they sit because it is the stock perch with aftermarket struts and springs but I just thought there might be something I'm missing here that you all will know more about.

Thanks In Advance

I'm guessing you can't spin the spring now that its compressed under the top strut mount. Did you try lining it up before you released the spring compressor (if one was even necessary)?

It definitely should be spun approximately 90 degrees clockwise so that the end of the spring rests cleanly in the perch. You say you couldnt get it to fit but did you try while the spring was compressed and was free to rotate?

Not sure otherwise. I'd think that you're riding a little bit higher (few mm) than intended as a result.

I'm trying to revisualize the process but I remember trying everything. Yes I had it compressed but the way it lined up on the top wouldnt allow the bottom part of the spring to fit into the perch like that. Mal1110 said his was the same and thinks that is the way it is supposed to be. Jamex or anyone else reading can you post a picture of how yours looks? Does anyone else sit the same way I do?

Wish I could recall the recent thread that talked about this, I believe it was in the suspension section.

I recall the OP in that thread figuring out that was actually the way they were supposed to sit. Once he installed one corner, he checked the "stock" corner, and saw it was sitting the same way as in your pic.

Wish I could be of more help

Nope that is not correct. It has been discussed before at great length (not trying to be a dick but just stating a fact)

If you try and fit the end in the notch the spring will not sit properly at all. The way it is sitting is how the factory sets it up. I can find the thread if you want but take my word for it.

The notch is actually there so you can fit a spring compressor in.

I stand corrected. I'm trying to remember if the stock sports springs rested in that perch or not, and I thought it did but no worries as long as the OP is happy now.
