"Comparing fish oil to flax oil is worse than comparing apples to oranges!!! Indeed, comparing ALA to EPA and DHA is an even greater stretch. ALA is a parent Omega-3 but humans have long ago lost most of their enzymatic capability to convert ALA to the only two Omega-3s that have significant therapeutic activity, EPA and DHA. There are numerous scientific studies confirming the limited conversion of ALA to EPA and DHA. Accordingly, EPA and DHA MUST come from a fish source although there are some genetically modified algae that produce DHA (but who knows the result of this process?). Furthermore, almost all fish oil products are in a synthetic ethyl ester form which are poorly absorbed. This is why we get the burping and repeating!!! As ethyl ester fish oils are much cheaper to make, this is why we see most fish oil products in this form. Get your fish oil in the same natural triglyceride form (TG)as the fish for maximal therapeutic value. It will say (TG) on the supplement fact sheet on the bottle if your product is in this form."

Fish oil... I read a study a while back that concluded flax seed oil decreased testosterone in men. Credible or not, I think Ill pass.

I usually switch between the two. I'm on flaxseed oil now.

This is interesting info you got there. I'll have to look into it.

you realize how ignorant this comment is right?

I heard protein caused kidney stones too. Guess what, it's not credible.

Bump from beyond the grave!

I recently purchased some Flax Seed Oil and was wondering how many grams per day I should take...the bottle recommends 3 per day.

In retrospect, I should've gotten the liquid form since it seems like I would have to take 3 of these horse pills to get 3 grams!

My Ride: has free candy.
Fish oil pills all day.

I add flax seed meal to ALL my shakes, as well as PB and sometimes a banana... sometimes berries for anti-oxidants.
