I used it all morning while I was out and about. Seems to work good. But it is the basic igo program, ive been running a skinned version of 8.3 and then Primo for the last year in my windows based dynavin so im used to something a bit more advanced and adjustable. But.... although simple, this version works good!

Bought the Khoaltys, installed them this evening. They look great and solve the temperature problem. Very nice.

Yeah i figured out that part. Was wondering if it has anything to do with the reverse cam being that it replaced one of the light....

By the way the water dried and my reverse cam is just not the same, so i'm definitely gonna have to purchase one from you.

But lets get back to dynavin...

Thats what I was thinking.

I have seen BT stuff working on Android tablets and phones so hopefully it can be done on the Dynavins.

Here are some pictures of igo.

I havent really used it but so far looks pretty good.

The whole argument of not having an offline nav out of the box is stupid, android users get to choose which program they want to use. I'm running co-pilot and now igo, you can't get that on the windows V5 version

Got in the car this morning with my phone tethering off. Started rolling down the road and decided I wanted to check traffic, so I turned my tethering on at a stop sign. The unit doesn't always find a new wifi available right away (does sometimes), and in this case, it didn't find my tethering signal quickly. I think this is fairly typical of android. To fix this, I cycled the dynavin wifi power using the power control widget that I have on my home screen. Once the cycle completed, the unit connected immediately. This is a trick I learned on my android phone and it appears to work wonders on the unit.

Hopefully this helps others.

What if you put a power widget on your homescreen, disable wifi and enable it again. I keep my wifi off on my phone and enable only when needed, it always picks up right away.

yep, this is exactly what I do, if I activate the hotspot while the dynaivn is on and dont want to wait for it to autoconnect, I just toggle the wifi off and on using the power widget.

according to our resident android expert Rob, Android goes out and checks for wifi at a predetermined time interval, it is a value programed into the android system. It always checks at startup, and then every so often after that. I dont know what the actual time is but im sure somebody could figure it out, seems like a couple minutes to me. Where you are in that cycle determines how quickly it will auto-find and connect. That is why sometimes it connects fast and other times it takes awhile.

Could somebody run a logcat and post it on here? I'm curious to see if the rest of steering wheel controls provide some sort of input into the android side, if the case is that android simply doesn't understand the input and doesn't do anything then I'm thinking I can write a simple app to make it do very specific actions, like "next" if the music player is active for example.

If someone can play with the android side, press buttons on the steering wheel and possibly on the unit itself(does the unit have >> button?) and THEN do a logcat maybe I can find useful info.

Android logcat:

I know why I couldn't find it. I was looking on there website and it said you couldn't buy it for android. I am going to give it a try. But I also was looking for Legit software that people buying the unit can buy or download. In my field, I really can't suggest to people that they use Software that was not intended for them

I doubt that would work, the android board is completely separate from the radio board so as far as I know there is no circuitry to get the steering wheel control wires to the android board.....the hardware would have to be changed.

Might be worth a shot..

When you press the volume, does it actually change the Android volume? Or does the android volume not change?

"Dynavin will change GPS system from Wince 5.0 to Wince 6.0 on June.
The new wince 6.0 GPS system will not support 3G connection..
The customer who need internet function in car need to wait till when we
launch Android 2.2 system on about October.

2011.05.13.Dynavin"

http://www.dynavin.com/news/news20110513.php

I have read statements in other post on the forum that a unit with WinCE will not be possible to upgrade to Android, but have Dynavin comfirmed those statements?

So it sounds like Dynavin will have both Android and WinCE units out?
