dmax go write a book.
as for the OE refills, next time I am going to make sure I receive the right ones because when I went to install my inserts they were about 4 inches longer on both sides and I had to cut the rubber and metal in order to fit them. |

Just take off that clip on the driver side wiper arm and use whatever blades you want. I just use the Michelin ones from Costco and throw em out. My opinion, no need for the fancy wiperblades, they all wear out around the same time anyway. They're just wiper blades, it's not like they are crucial to how the car functions.

That's how the OEMs are supposed to work. Dealer stocks one length and tech cuts to fit. That's why the metal strips have little cutlines pressed into them -- you'll see there's one that matches your car.

Migg, I'm curious what interest it is of yours...trying to run through the possibilities here. If this was somehow a lead in to a joke, you'll have to explain it. If this meant I should render my writing and boil it down...you could have just made that request. But otherwise, I'll say that in a wiper blade thread, I don't feel particularly compelled to be particularly focused or on target. The answer is so easy, it's painful. We have a devoted wiper blade guru here and I just put on whatever he says...and it's always OE. Only thing on the car that's cheaper and better than all others. This is a wiper blade thread; another in a long line, and not nearly as important to our cars as oil threads. And, now that I'm off the phone, I'll admit I really do like bacon. Do 'you' like bacon? I'm off phone so if I wrote something stupid, it was probably was still the phone!

Hi everyone, I replaced my wipers on my car with a rainx brand. I also cant find where I put my oem ones.
But my driver side wiper skip a lot. Especially when on the highway. I noticed a plastic clip thing that looks like it holds the wiper down, but it seems like its interfering with the new wiper from fully staying on the windshield. Should I take off the plastic clip/ I cant really see an easy way of taking it off without breaking it lol. |

Can you help me locate this clip? I've had mine skip a few times, too. Edit: Figured it out. It is a small clip right where the spring is for the wiper arm. Just push it forward towards the wiper blade with some force and it'll pop right out. Discard it unless you ever want to go back to non-uniform blades. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=819640 This thingy. Last edited by Zell; 06-07-2011 at 02:49 PM. |
