I'm waiting back to here if the ST-60's will fit under my wheels or what size spacers I will need. With those I will out stop damn near everything.
I'm also considering this but they are a bit out of my price range. If I could get both my car would truly be finished (minus gears) I could compete in any series I wanted (If I were good enough that is), the car itself would be maxed out. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=368920

PSS9's are the end for you? Or are (3 way adjustable racing type) coils just best for specific tuning?
BTW, can a M3 fit 18x10's and wide tires up front?

Do I need Motons right now at my currently driving level, no I don't. Will I need them within a year or two as I progress, yes. If I want to podium that is. The M3 can fit 18x10 with 285's up front no problem but you need at least 3.5 degrees of negative camber. Edit: After speaking with a few people I've decided on the brakes and I'm pulling the trigger as soon as I hear back if they will fit or not. For my current level of driving I will benefit much more from a bbk then I will from a suspension that I really don't know how to adjust.

Thats what I thought.
damn, I don't want to run -3.5° all the time. Maybe a 275 would be best then, or some higher offsets. Will examine further if the day ever comes. Hopefully we hit 10000 posts soon

Even with 275's you have to run upwards of 3 degrees. Unless you are running a SC the mechanical grip a 285 provdies is out weighed by the aero drag that it creates. If you have a stockish hp M3 the most you really need is 265 or 275 square. Both of which can fit on a 9.5" wide wheel.

Ok so I checked everything on that list brad and everything is good to go, except one thing...my front windshield is cracked ( I'm sure everyone has seen it too) its not all over the windshield. Just on the passenger side and it goes halfway up, but it's multiple cracks. I've had it for over a year but idk if I can get if fixed in time for tomorrow
. So will that mean I can't track or what?

Well I think the brakes may have fallen through. The guy made a previous arrangement to split them up.
What I have now should last me the rest of the season so I'm hoping I can pick something up this winter.

Not worth it. Just get cams and you'd be there power wise.
You could do head work on your engine ![]() (I seem to remember a discussion about how headwork dosen't have big gains on the S54. If so, then nvm)

Correct on the head work. Only cool thing about that motor is it has forged internals and all apr hardware so its built like a brick **** house. And it has 0 miles on it. I spoke with will, just for fun, and he said that the dyno was done with all oem intake and exhaust so with headers, exhaust, and pullies I would see more like 450-470 crank horse power.

I'm sorry I meant forged hc. As in high compression, my phone spell checked it and removed it I guess.

Well, I drove a 2003 M3 cabrio today. Was is pretty good condition, only 42k miles. Alot of it seemed to be original. My dad and I just figured we would see how it was.
Handling was great. Wasn't quite as planted as the porsche, but that doesn't surprise me. Really, it would be a pretty big upgrade from my car and would keep me happy for a while. Power was where my dad was more disappointed. It didn't feel (0-60 in 5.4 sec) fast. Didn't even feel that much quicker than my car. The reason for this? I found three: 1. It was a convertible. That adds like 400 lbs IIRC, and we had three people in the car. I was comparing it to my car, being driven alone, with 115 lbs taken out of the back, so weight was a big factor. 2. Gearing. The stock M3's are geared quick, but not too much quicker than my car. With a 4.10 rear diff it would have way more torque multiplication and would probably pull a good bit harder. 3. Torque. The S54 engine just isn't a torquey engine, plain as that. A stock M3 will dyno anywhere from 220-230 rwtq. Compared to my 330, witch will probably pull close to 210-220 rwtq. Honestly, the M3 doesn't FEEL all that much quicker, just because of the torque and the weight. That said, once the power kicked in it did seem quite a good bit faster, obviously. What my father takes from this is that he likes his porsche. Its light and feels like its way faster just because of the torque, even if it does 0-60 in 6.0 sec What I took from this is that I want an M3 even more. Its comparable to my car in daily driving but much faster on the track. Chassis would be stiffer on a coupe, and the suspension would be much more planted. For the time being, that won't be great for my learning, but oh well. I think I entertained the salesmen pretty well. He chuckled when I started doing rev match down shifts, especially on the highway - into 2nd ![]() gotcha. I always turn spell check off, intervenes too much for my tastes.
