Help me with code and another issue.

so my car threw a check enine light which stayed on for 150 miles, then went out. After about 150 miles again, the light came back on then went out. I decided to go to autozone and have the code pulled. It read, low coolant temp reading. Is this a sensor issue or thermostat? my coolant level is fine and the light is currently out. I have the original cooling system but the car only has 51,000 miles. Also, my control arms are clunking and don't want to spend hundreds on oem ones. Is there a ood place to buy aftermarket ones? how good can stock be if they failed so soon anyways?

Gosh! Sorry to hear! If you are not overheating, I would say it's likely a sensor!

For your control arms, sounds like you just need some brand spankin' new bushings and that will fix you right up! www.bimmerworld.com or www.iemotorsport.com

Check them out! I hope I was of help neighbor! If you're ever in Gainesville, I'd love to buy you some apple cider!

a 'low' temp reading? Thermostat is what it sounds like to me.

Drive a bit on the highway; I bet the temp gauge is reading to the left of dead center...if so, and then it comes back to normal when in city traffic...definitely the thermostat.

Clunking doesn't have to mean control arms. I was thinking bushing too, but since it's not that, you could check to see if all your nuts are tight...including sway bar endlinks, tie rods, CA...every ball joint (look for cracks in the rubber boots and loose nuts).

Read up on diagnosing CAs before you get new ones. OE for me are a lot stronger than many seem to think here...but I'm old, so don't race across pot hole ridden streets or hop over curbs too often.
