Broken or Coded?
Car off, key removed.
Turn signal stalk moved to either Left or Right, the respective turn indicator turns on steady. Turn signals work correctly when the car is being driven but when parked, the turn lamps can be on steady. This is a problem if the turn indicators are on unintentionally all day. Is this something that is coded, or do I have a broken turn signal stalk (combo switch)? |

The side markers are off... Only the corners are on. The side markers flash when the turn signals are on, but are off when the corner lights are on with the key off. This must be a Parking Light variant to light the street-side of the car. Maybe the tow company lobby has an insidious plan to drain batteries all across the globe... |

It shouldn't drain your battery. I do it occasionally at nights when I remember if I park on a side of a well traveled street.

This is my daughter's car, and I'm here to say that if she isn't paying attention and hits the turn signal on the way out of the car, the light stays on all day at school and the battery is indeed dead by the end of the day.

a good, oem battery shouldn't drain by using that feature. It can be coded off, but not by the dealer.

Doug you sound like you work for Microsoft... Uhhh yeah thats a feature, not a bug. It's ahhh built to work that way.
Mine works that way too. I just noticed it the other day when I was cleaning the car. Weird, I thought.
