I was wondering what is different between awd vs rwd front shocks & springs. Is it a difference in shape/fitment or is it different valving & spring rates? thanks

i think the struts are shorter in length and as far as the springs, every model E46 has different springs depending on body style, engine, options, etc. The color stripe on the coils is how you can tell them apart, theres a couple good threads on here about spring colors and compression rates if you search around.

how it mounts to the knuckle is different as well as the location of the mount for the swaybars.
