SOS/Assist autodimming mirror for e46 325i replacement with homelink

I see a lot of topics on mirror replacements but I am still confused.
I now have leaked SOS/Assist mirror which i would like to replace. Could not find cheap used 51167115776 but there are plenty of used cheap alternatives including the one with homelink which would be nice to have.

I want to make sure my plan works before purchasing the mirror:
1) It seems there are two mounting connectors available

The one I currently have is the left one, most mirrors for sale are with the right one. However, according to the site http://www.frankies-bmw.com/8series/...s_homelink.php it's just a matter of filing down the pins. Did anyone tied it with a success?

2) I see some posts of people complaining about the wiring differences and BMW assist trying to autocall. That is definitely going to be an issue as it happen when I puged in non-SOS/Assist mirror I borrowed form a friend. Can anyone tell me what kind of rewiring I need to do?
