Question:

Why were Inspection I and II done so late on the second engine? It appears Inspection I was done at 36k miles on the second engine, and Inspection 2 done at 69k miles. Is there a good reason for this? Was there a lot of preventative maintenance done in between both and before Inspection I in order to justify not having the Inspection I & II services done on their normal intervals? Thanks!

I really wouldn't be worried about Inspection II being done 9k after the maintenance schedule specifies. I'm guessing a majority of the E46Ms for sale haven't had it done at all. I'm under the impression mine hasn't been done on my 104k car (bought at 97k), as dealerships won't tell people if it's been done, only recalls.
