Question Suspension Advice

Hello all. I have a 2004 330xi w/sport package (which I understand is just cosmetics) with 57K. A friend has offered me a full set of very lightly used (under 5K) springs, struts, and shocks from a 2003 330i w/sport package. My question is are they compatible? Obviously the car will be somewhat lower, and I'll have to take that into account, but what other concerns should I have. Any and all assistance is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you can't use it.

The easy answer is no, they are different. Xi's are designed differently than any other 3-series. The suspension is very very specific (and not many options either)

im pretty sure you could use the springs, they would be close to what you have...not exact though...but i think the front struts are incompatible. rears not sure.

Truth. The front strut has a different sway bar mounting point and the front suspension's travel is limited because of the CV joint compared to the RWD. You may be able to use the springs but XIs are heavier and the weight is distributed differently (for example, yes, those are steel front control arms). I would think you'd be better off using something engineered for our cars.
