Thank goodness there is an Xi only section! Wheel Questions?

Howdy!

I've been trolling over on bimmerforums and its tough to get much work done over there in regards to Xi stuff Happy to have found a new community.

Anyway, I am looking to pick up some 18x8.5 BBS LM's, I need some help finding the right size, let alone a good wet/dry and sometime snowy tire.

It seems that 235/40 is the most common, non problem tire. However, a 245/40 would look awesome. I am going to be using a 35mm offset, which seems common as well.

I am not looking to rub, roll, cut or chop anything related to putting this setup on.

My question, what tire and size are you guys running? And do you have any pictures of your combos?

Thanks!

Nokian WRG2 would be a good year round tire choice in Idaho. You are better off putting snow tires on your stock wheels and buying summer tires for the LMs. You probably dont want to use $3000 rims in the winter. Nokian hakkapeliitta 5 or R would be a great choice for snows. Michelin super sports for summer, or Dunlop star specs if you want to use them for motorsports.

if you are at stock height 245/40/18 will fit no problem on an 8.5 at et35. I would recommend what steve said about summer/winter tires being separate. No-seasons are nice but if you got extra rims, throw winters on them and keep the LM's garaged till summer.

Our winders end up being cold, rather than snowy most of the time. I live in the city too.

I have some aftermarket wheels on my car now with 215's on them. Ya'll think a 245 will tuck and flush with the fener?

Summer
Wheels: TRMotorsports C2 17x8.5 +40 Offset
Tires: Hankook Ventus V4 245/40-r17 (I wanted the V12 but they were on back order and I couldn't wait )

(This is the best shot of them I have at the moment)

The wheels are nice and light, around 18 pounds. The tires have great wet and dry traction but they like to hydroplane.

That car is greasy, good work!

I cannot decide if 19" are the right choice or not.

Is the gap disappearance from the wheels or drop? I'm curious because your car looks great with them wheels, I'm thinking of getting some. The gap drives me crazy

I bought them from a fanatic in California who had a set of 4 rears. I'd run a set of summer wheels and winter wheels...if you guys get a lot of snow that is...
